PVU wins high award at National Student Olympic Competitions 2016
In April 2016, PetroVietnam University (PVU) sent 03 teams to participate the National Student Olympic Competitions 2016 including Olympic Physics Competition in Da Nang, Olympic Chemistry Competition in Hanoi and Olympic Mathematics Competition in Binh Dinh and attained high achievement. Specially, the Olympic Physics Team of PVU won the first prize among 49 universities and colleges.

The Olympic Physics Team has 6 students this year (7 students in 2015). The competition took place from 20 to 24 April 2016 at Duy Tan University of Da Nang city. The team was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Quang and MSc. Nguyen To Nga and won the first prize among 49 universities and colleges.

Olympic Physics Awarding for XIX National Student Competition 2016 at Duy Tan University, Da Nang City

 

For multiple-choice questions, 03 first prizes were awarded to Students Pham Hoai Nhon (Class K3DC-DVD), Le Duc Tho (Class K3KKT) and Truong Khoi Nguyen (Class K3LHD); 02 first prizes in the experimental test to Nguyen Thi Thu An (Class K4DC-DVD) and Le Dinh Ty (Class K4DC-DVD); 01 second prize in exercise test to Le Duc Tho (Class K3KKT) and 01 third prize to Hoang Trung (Class K3KKT). Particularly, after 19 competitions, PVU has hit the record of 18/20 scores that was ever made by Hanoi University of Science in 2014.

 

The Olympic Chemistry Team consists of 05 students (the same number in 2014, competition is held every 2 years). The competition took place from 16 to 23 April 2016 at Hanoi University of Industry. The team was led by Dr. Dam Thi Thanh Hai and MSc. Nguyen Van Kiet. The first prize was awarded to Nguyen Phuc Hong (Class K3LHD); 03 second prizes to Duong Nguyen Cong Thanh (Class K2LHD), Nguyen Van Toan (Class K4LHD) and Tran Sy Nhat (Class K4LHD) and the third prize to Nguyen Hung Vuong (Class K3LHD).

 

The Olympic Mathematics Team has 06 students this year (07 students in 2015). The competition took place from 10 to 17 April 2016 at Quy Nhon University, Binh Dinh province. The team was led by Dr. Nguyen Van Loi. 01 first prize and 01 second prize in Algebra were awarded to Luong Khanh Loc (Class K4KKT) and Dang Huu Minh (Class K3KKT) respectively; 01 second prize and 02 third prizes in Analytics were awarded to Le Minh Truong (Class K4KKT) and Ho Sy Quynh (Class K3DC-DVD), Luong Khanh Loc (Class K4KKT) respectively.
