1. Operational projects:

- Phu My Fertilizer Plant: run and owned by Petrovietnam Fertilizers & Chemicals Joint Stock Corporation (PVFCCo)
   + Completion: September 2004;
   + Investment capital: 370 million USD;
   + Capacity: Ammonia (1,350 tons/day); 740.000 tons Urea/year.
In 2009, 740,000 tons of Urea was produced.

Phu My Fertilizer Plant under PVFCCo is placed in Phu My Industrial Park No.1 in Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. The US 0-million plant which covers 63ha with capacity of 740,000 tons Urea/year utilizes Danish technology of Haldor Topsoe to produce ammonia and Italian technology of Snamprogetti to produce urea fertilizer. These are the leading technologies in the world in producing fertilizers in a closed production line in which the main input materials are natural gas and the output is ammonia and urea. With a closed technological production line and self-generation of electricity and water steam, it is totally active in production even if breakdown or supply shortage occurs in the national electricity grid.

There are three main workshops, including ammonia, urea and auxiliary and others.
Personnel in charge of management, operation and maintenance of the plant is active in under-taking all work items; the plant is always operational at full capacity and standard operational time in consecutive years of 2007 and 2008 with total output exceeding the designed output/year.
Apart from initial items, in order to get quality enhancement, product diversification, maximized utilization of PVFCCo’s resources, efficient and convenient facilitation to production and business and improvement of working environment for workers, the Corporation has been improving, upgrading and investment in following items and technology systems in the plant:

• Anti-aggregate spraying system which prevent aggregation of urea products; improve urea shaking sieve system to get rid of chips in commercial urea products.

• The system to recuperate ammonia from waste water before being discharged into the environment; install urea-dust extractor system to ensure clean working environment for workers.

• Investment in diversifying products: technology to produce 99.9% pure CO2 from emission gas of the plant, Methanol, Formaldehyde, and some industrial gases like Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, etc.
With skilled and experienced managers, operators and technical workers, the performance of Phu My Fertilizer Plant has contributed significantly to the common achievements of the Corporation.  In early 2009, Phu My Fertilizer Plant was honoured to receive third-ranked labor medal from the State.

2. On-going projects:

- Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant: invested by Petrovietnam
   + Commencement: July 2008;
   + Expected completion: 2012;
   + Investment: about 900 million USD;
   + Capacity: 800,000 tons Urea/year.

The construction of Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant started in July 26th 2008 in Khanh An commune, U Minh district, southern-most province of Ca Mau. Petrovietnam is the investor and EPC contractors are Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd and China National Machinery Imp & Exp Corp.

Wuhuan Engineering Corp. – WEC which was established in 1958 has been involving in more than 1,200 projects in China and overseas. The first EPC project it involved in is Jiangxi Ammonia Plant in 1979.  WEC contributed to success of more than 400 ammonia and urea projects.

China National Machinery Imp. & Exp. Corp – CMC which was established in 1950 is one of the leading and biggest foreign trade enterprises which import and export machinery in China with total sale revenue since its establishment up to US billion.

-    Name of project: Ca Mau fertilizer plant.
-    Construction venue: Khanh An commune, U Minh district, Ca Mau province.
-    Investor: Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
-    Area: 62 ha.
-    Plant capacity: 800,000 tons of fertilizers/year.
-    Material: natural gas from PM3-CAA field offshore Vietnam’s continental shelf.
-    Products:
+    High-quality fertilizers in pellet form.
+    Ammonia.
+    Pure CO2 gas for people’s life, industrial production and food stuff industry.
-    The plant is provided with advanced and modern technologies. Fertilizers are produced by technology of Snamprogetty (Italia); Ammonia (NH3) by technology of Haldor Topsoe (Den-mark); and palletizing technology by TEC (Japan).
-    EPC contactor: the joint venture contractor of Wuhuan Engineering Corp. – WEC and China National Machinery Imp. & Exp. Corp – CMC.
-    Investment capital: about 900 million USD
-    The project creates over 10,000 jobs during construction period and about 400 jobs in operation stage.
-    As the project is completed, together with the existing Phu My Fertilizer Plant, it will in-crease total output of fertilizers produced by Petrovietnam to 1,540,000 tons/year, meeting most of the country’s fertilizer demand and helping stabilize fertilizer price and ensure food security of the country.
